Prof Wang is an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. In the 1980s, he gathered nearly 100 scientists and engineers to develop China's first nano-level precision equipment for recording optical disc motherboards. In 1992, he established China's first micromechanical engineering research laboratory at Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics. In 2004, with his efforts, the Key Laboratory for Microsystems and Micromanufacturing of Liaoning was established. Prof. Wang undertook 30 scientific research projects and achieved 5 scientific research results of international advanced level. Since 1996, he has been responsible for writing the development plan of 863 MEMS in the Tenth Five-Year Plan. In 2003, he participated in writing the sub-topic of nanotechnology & microsystems in the national medium- and long-term science & technology development plan. He is an influential leader in this field in China.
