From 30 to 31 October, the “Hisense Cup” the 3rd College Students’ Innovation Competition on Artificial Intelligence of Jilin Province was hosted by the Jilin Association of Robot at the gymnasium on the south campus of Changchun University of Science and Technology. The Engineering Training Center selected 19 undergraduate students from the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, College of Automotive Engineering, and College of Materials Science and Engineering to participate in the competition. After fierce competition, they were awarded three first prizes, two second prizes, and one third prize in the four tracks of “Bionic Fish in Water - Full Vision Ball Catching Competition”, “Humanoid Robots’ Golf Game”, “Scrabble-playing Robot Competition”, and “Exhibition Match themed on ‘AI-based Innovation in China’”.

Leveraging its advantages in engineering practice ability, the Engineering Training Center assigned six mentors (Chen Yu, Yang Yang, Guo Yanqiu, Sun Shuai, Qu Xiaohai, and Liu Peng) to provide participating students with theoretical training and technical guidance before the competition, and offered competition equipment and training venues as support.

This competition fully embodied the engineering practice ability of the Engineering Training Center as a JLU engineering practice teaching unit, brought out students’ virtues of innovating and taking challenges, and further perfected and developed the engineering practice teaching system of the Engineering Training Center.
