[Course Name]Cutting Principles and CNC Cutting Tools（28 Hours/1.5 Credits, Autumn Semester）
【教学目的】使学生理解和掌握金属切削过程的基本规律和数控刀具的相关知识，了解金属切削理论研究和数控刀具的发展前沿。拓宽专业知识面，初步具备解决实际加工问题的能力，提高综合素质。
[Course Objects] The task of this course is to enable students to understand and master the basic laws of metal cutting process and associated knowledge of CNC cutting tools, as well as the frontier development of cutting theoretical research and CNC cutting tools. This course is also to broaden the professional knowledge, enable the ability to solve practical problems, and improve overall qualities of students.
【教学内容】理解和掌握金属切削过程的基本理论，如切屑形态形成机理、剪切面切削模型、切削方程式、切削温度理论计算、切削液润滑机理、材料的切削加工性、高速切削技术等。学习数控刀具的相关知识，如数控刀具的更换和尺寸预调、刀具磨损和破损检测等。
[Teaching Content] The contents of this course is to understand and master the basic theory of metal cutting process, including the formation mechanism of cutting chip shapes, cutting model of shear plane, cutting equation, theoretical calculations of cutting temperature, lubrication mechanism of coolant, machinability of material, and high-speed cutting technology. The contents of this course is also to study the relevant knowledge of CNC tools, including the replacement of CNC tool, tool presetting, detection of tool wear and tool breakage.
【授课对象】本课程面向机械科学与工程学院机械类专业本科生。要求授课对象具备一定的制造理论知识，经过金工实习等专业实践，先修课程《制造技术基础A》。
[Target Students] This course is for undergraduate students whose major are mechanical engineering and related in College of Mechanical Science and Engineering. Students are required to have some theoretical knowledge of manufacturing and have metalworking experience. The prerequisite course is Fundamentals of Mechanical Manufacturing Technology A.
