【教学目的】机械工程导论是机械工程专业本科生的基础必修课，该门课程面向机械工程类专业的一年级学生。通过本课程的学习，使学生对机械工程有较为完整、系统的认识，进而明确今后的学习目标和努力方向，为后续专业课程的学习打下基础。
[Course Objects] The introduction of mechanical engineering is a basic compulsory course for freshmen majoring in mechanical engineering. Through studying of this course, students may have a more complete and systematic understanding of the major of mechanical engineering, and then it will be easier for them to set future-learning goals and also lay a good foundation for other professional courses.
【教学内容】机械工程导论主要介绍机械设计、机械制造和机电控制三个部分的内容，通过基础性知识的介绍，使学生对机械工程专业要解决的问题、解决问题的基本方法有一个初步的认识。结合当前国内国际形势，介绍机械工程发展所面临的挑战，激发学生创新潜能，培养学生发现问题、解决问题的能力。
[Teaching Content] The introduction of mechanical engineering mainly introduces the knowledge about mechanical design, mechanical manufacturing and electromechanical control and its purpose is to make the students have a preliminary understanding of what problems can be solved in mechanical engineering and the basic methods to solve these problems. Combined with current domestic and international discipline development, the course introduces the challenges in the development of mechanical engineering to stimulate students to innovate their potential, and help them to develop the ability to identify problems and more importantly solve problems in this field.
